FUNCTIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT:

It is submitted that the Department of Mines and Geology, is an investigative, Administrative, and promotional arm of the State Government in Mineral Development.  This office is carrying out the functions of Regulatory, Promotional, and collection of Mineral Revenue to the State Exchequer. 

The Regulatory work involves receipt and processing of Quarry Lease applications under Mineral Concession Rules, Inspection of applied areas / leased out areas, to monitor the conservation and control of illicit Mining and Quarrying and transportation of Minerals.

It is submitted that (10) Quarry leases are existing in the district which details as follows:

INFRASTRUCTURE:

The State Government vide G.O. Ms No. 328, Industries & Comm. (Mines, I-Department) Dt:11.10.2016 issued Notification formulating Jogulamaba Gadwal District w.e.f. 11.10.2016.  The Jogulamba Gadwal District consists of (12) Mandals covered in (1) Revenue Division.  The major mining activity in the District is the quarrying of Road Metal & Building Stone.

The office of the Asst. Director of Mines & Geology, Jogulamba Gadwal District is established on 11.10.2016.  The allotted officers/staff to the office of the ADM&G, Jogulamba Gadwal District is as follows:

SCHEMES:

PMKKKY:

 DMFT Rules-2015 regarding simplification of procedure for identification of affected areas and implementation of welfare schemes/projects specified under Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra KalyanYojana (PMKKKY) in an effective manner.     

The District Mineral Foundation Trust, Jogulamba Gadwal  was established in the District, and contribution of DMF @ 30% equivalent to Seigniorage Fee is being collected regularly from leaseholders/stakeholders which accrued amount up to Jan-2024  is 5,60,60,656/-. The amount will be utilized for taking care of the area affected due to mining and related operations by the District Government in terms of G.O.Ms.No.38 (Ind.& Com.), Dt:31.05.2018 under the PMKKKY scheme.

MINERAL REVENUE ACHIEVEMENT UP TO 31.01.2024:

The Mineral Revenue Achievements for the years 2017-2018,  2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21 & 2021-22 & 2022-23(Upto Jan-2024) in Jogulamba Gadwal District.  Achievement details are as follows:
